PINS ARRIVED! Photos - About to charge cards + Important shipping info

They're here and they're amazing!

Instead of talking, let's just dive into the photos and let them speak for themselves! I'm sure you're dying to see how they came out :)

All together now - hurrah!

The main events - "Night-Day" open edition on the left and "Day-Night" limited edition on the right. I took the photos outside while it was slightly overcast (some spots of sun when I got lucky) to try to get the lighting better than indoors.

Next part of the process

I have a LOT of pins to quality check which is the next step, so that will take the better part of all week before I can even begin to start packaging everything. At first glance they look pretty good, but I inspect each one individually so the best ones go out to backers. All in all we are still within our timeline of getting things shipped out in May! 

 Backerkit - Charging all cards and locking addresses Thursday May 7th.  

If you need to change your payment card (only if you added extras in Backerkit) and/or if you have moved where you are living this month or last month, do not have access to your old PO box, or will be moving this month and know your new address - please update your card or address information asap.

You can do this by going to the original email from Backerkit that asked you to fill out your survey for "Make 100 L.E. Dragon Enamel Pins "Day-Night" +more designs". If you know that you may need to change your address or use a different card than what you originally put into Backerkit but can't find your email, please message me and I'll get you your survey link.

If you know you don't need to change anything then you don't have to worry - you're all set! 

Shipping - International Delays

As I mentioned in previous updates, I was expecting there might be some delays with international shipping. All shipping prices are based off of what the United States Postal Service charges, and currently they are experiencing significant delays for international packages. There is a growing list of countries that appear to be completely suspended from service (at least currently). 

Because I will have to individually research each country that I need to send to, I ask that my international backers outside of the US lend me some extra time to sort through all the shipping mess. I do not want to take chances and have your package completely lost because it was sent somewhere that isn't processing international packages - especially if it's a limited edition pin! If I get to your package and your country has suspended service, I will message you with an update. 

Order of packaging

I'm going to start at the beginning with all of the orders that contain a limited edition pin, then onto all packages that will also contain a holographic sticker. 

I received two small test batches of holographic stickers that were either slightly damaged or from a printer I decided not to go with. These oddball stickers will be added into the pledges that are next in line after the original holo stickers are all added, until they run out. So if you get a sticker that looks a bit strange or has some damage, please consider it a bonus that I didn't want go to waste ;)

Pins are on the way! Shipping updates

I just got word that the pins have shipped from the manufacturer today! Woot!

Because of the pandemic it's a complete mystery about exactly how long they might take to arrive, but I'll be keeping a close eye on the shipment as best I can. The pins did ship near the end of their estimated schedule which means I won't be able to begin packaging orders for a couple weeks after I had originally planned. All things considered, we knew the timeline was going to be stretched so I am optimistic that any delays will hopefully not be too long. For now, we wait for the arrival of the shiny new pins and take it all one step at a time :)

International shipping (foreseen delays, suspensions)

The USPS has posted that many countries currently have temporary service suspensions, and is asking that if possible to refrain from posting items overseas. I'll be looking into this more to see if there are certain countries that will be safe for mailing right away, and which (by the time I'm ready to start shipping) I will not be able to mail anything to. 

If your package falls within any of the countries that has shipping service suspensions active by the time I'm ready to start shipping, I will contact you via direct message to give personal updates for your package situation. According to the website, these suspensions are temporary which only means I won't be able to send those packages out right away - but I assure you that everyone will be sent their rewards one way or another.

Surveys and edits

There are only 15 surveys that still need to be completed, which by this point is dang awesome, so good job everyone! 

Cards will be charged once I receive the pins most likely in 1-3 weeks. I'll make an update once the pins arrive and I put the charge through.

If you need to change your address you can still do that up until I lock addresses which will be within a day or two after the cards are charged. I'll put all of this info in the next update as well.

Get your surveys filled! Locking orders

Hi everyone!

If you haven't completed your survey or you want to change anything on your order please do so ASAP.

I'm about to lock orders with a final notice, which means you'll get 48 hours to make any changes as needed. Addresses are not locked at this time, only the actual items in each order so if you need to update your address before I send you'll have another chance to do that and I'll let you know when addresses are about to be locked.

Staying on Track has been more difficult than ever with world events. The pins are currently being manufactured and will arrive to the studio sometime in mid to late April, barring any extra delays. There may be delays of product during the shipping process from the manufacturer that we don't know of yet, or as they come through customs. Without knowing for sure if anything will be delayed I can only mention it here for you all just in case it happens. 

Once the pins arrive I plan to keep them outside the studio for a few days as a safety measure. Because it's impossible to tell what the state of things may look like in a few weeks I'll give you all another update on whether I see any extensive delays happening. I feel it's very possible at this point to expect things to take a little longer than originally planned, but I've prepared ahead of time everything I could. I have all shipping boxes, all packaging, all stickers are here and all backing cards are here already.

Ready to order

We've got just a smidge over 80% of the surveys now filled out which means I'll be downloading all the counts and starting to organize final numbers for the big order this week. Yay!

Current status for surveys filled: 70%

Once we hit at least 80% for the surveys then I can start building our final order for the pins! You guys have had an amazingly fast response for the surveys and I'm blown away by how on top of it you are.

Great job :D

That said, if you can't find your survey or need another link please let me know and I'll get a fresh new one to you.
